We’re celebrating #NationalEngineeringDay with our #EngineeringRoleModels drawing competition for 3-8 year olds.

Competition Info

All you have to do is draw a picture of an engineer at work and enter it into our competition for a chance to win engineering inspired classroom activity boxes, activity books or playing cards! See prize examples here.

STEP TWO: CREATE

Time to get creative! Which engineer or type of engineering inspires you the most? Draw a picture of an your engineer role model at work. How are they helping to improve our lives?

STEP THREE: IMPROVE

Double check your picture meets the requirements

The last step in an engineering design cycle is to improve. 
Check with your child(ren) if they want to make any changes or improvements.

Does your picture show an engineer at work? Add a description to tell us more about your engineer and what they are doing (an adult can transcribe this info).
Does your picture include name, age and description? 
Age categories: 3-4; 5-6 and 7-8

What happens next? National Engineers Day is 13th November, with Tomorrow's Engineers Week running 11-15th November. Competition deadline is Tuesday 19th November. We aim to select winners by 26th November and get prizes out to you ASAP. Good luck everyone! Any questions do please get in touch.

Rules

​

  1. Entry to the competitions is restricted to one entry per person please. We will allow a child to submit one entry via their school/nursery and another from home but it must be a different picture; other multiple entries will be disqualified.

  2. Competitions are open to UK residents only. Prizes can only be sent to a valid UK address. Prizes are non-exchangeable and non-refundable.

  3. First, second and third place winners will be selected in each of the categories, based on quality of drawing and the representation of engineers and engineering.

  4. Winners will be contacted via email. Winning entries will be displayed on our website and social media.

  5. The Judges decision is final and no correspondance will be entered in to.

  6. Unless you opt-out, all entries will be utilised in an anonymised research study regarding children's perceptions of engineers. No individuals or establishments will be identified.

  7. The competition will run from 1st November until 19th November. Late entries will not be considered.
